Cathy Padgett heeds the beckoning whispers of the past and answers with a click of her camera. Once translated, the whispers become photographs of things so commonplace that they often go unnoticed. Her photographs speak for themselves, each telling a story of an earlier time -- when children went to one-room schools, people shopped at general stores, and our roads were not yet paved.
Cathy Padgett was born in San Jose, California and has made Northwest Arkansas her home since 1971. She earned a B.A. in Art Studio with a concentration in Photography from the University of Arkansas in 1991, and M.A. in Anthropology in 2000 and a MEd in Educational Technology in 2005.
Cathy is currently the Administrative Analyst and Visual Resource Curator for the Department of Art at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and resides in Springdale, Arkansas.
