On May 31, 1887 Henry Stone deeded land to Sonora School District for the purpose of a school. This one-room building became a two-room schoolhouse about 1913. In 1937 there were several improvements made by the school board. Beginning with the 1949-1950 school year the students were transported to one of the Springdale elementary schools. The Sonora schoolhouse was torn down in the summer of 2010.
